Lighthouse Cruise of Long sland

The Long Island Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society will conduct its “Beacons of the Night” sunset/moonlight/lighthouse cruise on Saturday, September 28. See several offshore lighthouses in the late afternoon, then see them casting their beams at night on the return to Greenport. Lighthouses scheduled to be seen include Long Beach Bar, Orient Point, Plum Island, Little Gull Island, and Race Rock, as well as other local historical sites. Robert G. Müller, author of Long Island’s Lighthouses: Past and Present, and New York State Lighthouses, will be on board to narrate, tell true stories of life at these lighthouses, answer questions, and sign books. Tickets are $95. Includes refreshments. Funds help the Society continue its historic lighthouse preservation and education programs.
