A History of Plagues with Fire Island School

Throughout history man has fought a war against disease. These widespread outbreaks of disease, known as plagues, have changed history, medical practices, social and cultural practices and left their mark both physically and historically. This lecture covers the medical aspects of plagues, and the historical significance of the best-known plagues.
